ABSTRACT
Amyand’s hernia is defined as the protrusion of the vermiform appendix through the inguinal hernia sac. It is a rare entity with a clinical presentation that can vary from the appendix without changes to appendicitis with complications. Although classic surgical treatment includes appendectomy and hernia repair, appendectomy in cases of absence of inflammatory signs is debatable. This report presents a case of Amyand’s hernia managed with appendectomy and hernioplasty according to the modified Rikki classification. Keywords: Amyand’s hernia; Inguinal hernia; Claudius Amyand
