ABSTRACT
This article is a study on the Brazilian Prison System and Human Rights. Through a literature review with bibliographic
research in which information is sought in books, magazines, publications and other materials on the subject. Among
the objectives is the search for more information on the subject. The Federal Constitution expressly provides for the
responsibility of the State towards all citizens, guaranteeing them fundamental rights and duties, also covering those who
are deprived of their liberty in prison units, although the Penal Execution Law is considered one of the most advanced
in the world. there are many contraventions between the Law and its real applicability.
