Cybersecurity and its Paradigms in the Digital Age

Abstract

This article proposes an assessment of the cybersecurity scenario in relation to its paradigms, defining items of threats and attacks that have been emerging through the intensification of cybercrime. With rampant cyberattacks expanding on a global stage, companies need to equip themselves with tools and processes to contain security-related risks and incidents in order to protect all of their physical and IT assets. To this end, organizations must provide a plan to address security issues through the most varied actions to contain and mitigate these threats. We came through this article to also present basic concepts of cybersecurity, its main dangers and threats and talk about two of the biggest attacks in the world today: Ransomware and Phishing. Finally, we will show how some emerging disruptive technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) sometimes present themselves as facilitators in mitigation, treatment, and protection through the use of intelligent algorithms and automation.
