EXPANDED SUMMARY

The challenges faced by black women in Brazil are numerous. In addition to having less access to education, public services, and work, they still experience a reality of violence and stigmatization. And with black girls it's no different, as it is through childhood that black children, especially girls, encounter the first forms of prejudice and end up being victims of harsher forms of verbal and in some cases physical violence. The experiences of black girls are marked by various factors such as racism, sexism, and classism. These factors of structural oppression often shape the childhoods of black girls through racist stereotypes, having significant repercussions for the victims' lives.

Empowering a girl from an early age will certainly make her a more prepared woman to deal with daily sexism, prejudices, and social pressures directed at her body. However, before starting this process, the family must empower themselves. Empowering girls is first and foremost about making a true historical-cultural rescue of their ancestors because it will contribute positively to the process of building the empowerment of the dark-skinned black girl. Freire (2021) emphasizes that it is through critical self-analysis that the oppressed liberates themselves; in other words, they liberate themselves, and the author makes it clear that "If understanding is magical, then action will be magical." Awakening readers to the importance of not waiting for others' liberation but for the oppressed person's own liberation.
