ABSTRACT

The proposed topic of this paper is the reduction of criminal responsibility age, which is highly demanded by society. This article aims to analyze whether the reduction of criminal responsibility age violates the principle of comprehensive protection of children and adolescents. A bibliographic research was conducted, considering books by various authors and scientific articles published on the internet, which sought to bring discussions about the (un)constitutionality of reducing the criminal responsibility age, as well as arguments for and against its reduction, emphasizing, finally, the trajectory of children and adolescents and the principle of comprehensive protection. It was concluded that the well-being of minors as individuals is of utmost importance, and it is the duty of the State, family, and society.
