The Role of the Federal Constitution in Guaranteeing Social Rights

ABSTRACT
The Federal Constitution is an essential instrument in guaranteeing social rights. It establishes the
legal bases for the protection of these rights, being responsible forcreating the necessary mecha-
nisms for their eff ectiveness. Based on the Constitution, public policies and social programs are
created that seek to guarantee access to social rights, such as health, education, housing, decent
work, among others. In addition, the Constitution also provides for the responsibility of the State
in the promotion of social rights, establishing that it must act eff ectively in the protection of
these rights and guarantee their universalization. Despite the challenges in implementing social
rights, the Federal constitutionisan important instrument for building amore just and egalitarian
society, as itensures the protection of these fundamental rights and promotes social inclusion
and human dignity.
